Dear Wymondham Neighbour
I'm standing in this by-election because I think Wymondham deserves better.
I think Wymondham deserves a better Town Council than the one it has had in the past couple of years. The silliness reported in the Press, the way they spend your money, and the way they miss the bigger picture of Wymondham's future could all be improved on.
Wymondham Deserves Better
I want a Town council that spends your money sensibly and that actively works for a prosperous Town Centre instead of constant prevarication. I want a Council that prioritises proper facilities here after all these years of house-building. And I want a Town Council that will stand up for Wymondham, whether in protecting our heritage & identify, or in fighting these awful plans to make Wymondham part of a new expanded Norwich Council.
My Pledges
If elected...My priorities will include: -
Sensible Financial Management
Ensuring your money is spent sensibly – and on things Wymondham actually needs.
Wymondham Town Centre
Getting the Town & District Councils to work better together in promoting a prosperous town centre.
Better Facilities for Young & Old
We need a period of ‘catch up’ after all the house-building in recent years. We need more capacity at GP surgeries, improved access at the Rail Station, a wind-resistant bus stop in the Town Centre, and new play equipment for our children in local parks. And we need to ensure we retain a proper banking counter-service.
Keeping Wymondham Special
From the conservation area in the middle of town to the countryside views from Chapel Lane and Tuttles Lane, we now need to protect Wymondham’s heritage and identity from inappropriate over-development.
Keeping Us Separate from Norwich
Proposals to make Wymondham part of an expanded Norwich City Council are a recipe for disaster. They would mean higher council tax, bother for local motorists and urban sprawl extending from Norwich to Wymondham
If you agree that Wymondham is a lovely place and deserves to be served better, then please lend me your Vote on Thursday 1st May.
Best wishes
Jonathan Purle Conservative Candidate for Wymondham Town Council
